| THE
STANSTEAD GRANITE MUSEUM is a not for profit organization located in the GEMS
(GranitEpo & Museum of Stanstead) complex
downtown Stanstead. The GEMS complex also host a permanent "trade exhibit"
featuring 10 local granite manufacturers and a reception hall with
a capacity of 100 guests. THE MUSEUM FEATURES a comprehensive exhibit on the
100+ year old history of our local granite industry. Demonstrations, kids workshops, video
presentations on the stone industry and different activities like factory and quarry tours
are organized. THE MUSEUM IS MANAGED by its founding members, a committee
of volunteers, including retired granite experts, local business representatives and the
promoter of GEMS. The board of directors is responsible for the financing campaigns,
the promotion, the daily management and planning of all exhibits and
activities. THE MUSEUM IS OPEN all year long to the general public, 7
